We executed electrical installation on behalf of IBM for their client's data centers. The scope of work included power cabling, lighting, LT panels, dedicated and body earthing, cable trays, etc. Challenges: For a MNC client, it was a shifting of the entire data center of about 5000 sq. ft. to a new facility located about 10 Kms away. We had to disconnect all the existing power and control cables, PDUs, LT panels, UPSs, etc. transport them properly to new location, relay all the cables, reconnect them, install all the panels, test and commission the complete electrical distribution system over a weekend. As the existing data center was operational, we were not allowed to explore the existing electrical cables for its suitability for the new location; we were under a great pressure for shortage in cable lengths, etc. We had to keep some spare cable lengths ready for such emergencies. We successfully executed this job due to excellent understanding of the total job, flawless planning for material, manpower, logistics, time management and coordination with other agencies. The new data center was up and running on the first day of the week. Total constructed area: about 25,000 sq. ft. Project completion schedule: ranging from 4 weeks to 12 weeks depending on sites.
